Thanks all for attending. Dani wrote up all your suggestions for activities grouped by volunteer, life skills and summer fun activities. This was sent out to all as an attachment. IF you did not receive this info, contact your supervising case manager or Sue Rumanoff.

Staff Badges/Identification

If you missed the All Staff meeting you missed out on an easy opportunity to have your picture taken and receive a YMCA badge identifying you as staff in the Therapeutic Support Services program.

Also, if you are a newly credentialed/hired staff, please remember that you should have a badge made.

CREDENTIALED STATUS:

Staff, please remember that your status as a credentialed staff is dependent upon maintaining current documentation on file with the Y and Advanced Behavioral Health. The following items must be current and on file with us:

  • Drivers license
  • Auto vehicle insurance policy
  • First aid and CPR certification

Prior to the date they expire, please forward a copy via email, fax, or US mail to Robin Pulaski, Human Resources,

ABH has informed us that they WILL terminate credentialing on individuals who don't meet the deadlines. NO Credentialing, means NO WORK anymore!


FIRST AID/CPR TRAINING

 

 

Having current certification will be required to continue working. The Y will reimburse you up to $50 if you wish to receive the training from a certified program such as Red Cross or American Heart Association. We also have info. on ongoing classes that you could attend:

******Look under HEARTSAVER FIRST AID. IT is offered on the 1st Wednesday from 6:30-11pm and the 3rd Saturday from 8am to 1pm each month.

Tell Lou or Kristen that you are with our Y, the course usually costs $85 but they will discount it down to $65.

Rate of $50 will be reinbursed to you upon your acceptance of your first case/client with the Y.

Children's Museum in West Hartford:1st Sunday of every month, admission is FREE!

Kid City in Middletown (geared towards up to age 8) Free on the 3rd Thursday of every month between 5pm and 7pm.

Bowling anyone?  T-Bowl on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington charges $5 from 5pm-8pm every Sunday.  It is recommended that you go there by 4:30 to ensure that you get a lane.

Movies? Tuesday night at the Holiday Theatres in Wallingford: all movies are $5

             Tuesday night at Showcase Cinemas   all movies $6

Local Libraries: free passes to many attractions throughout the state!

NEW HAVEN RECREATION RESOURCES/IDEAS:

There is a free bookstore "New Haven Reads", address is 45 Bristol St., 203-752-1923. Hours are M-F 1-6pm and Sat. 12-4 pm. Also, local libraries have passes to various attractions in the state, you just check out the pass and you get in free or for big discount!
