Inspiriting friendships and developing skills with valued role models.

Welcome to the YMCA Camp Ingersoll Family!

Dear YMCA Camp Ingersoll Family,

I first attended YMCA Camp Ingersoll as a Kiddy Camper when I was in first grade living in Marlborough.  I don’t remember much of my camp experience that summer, but I do recall meeting my friend Sean for the first time.  Despite being in the same tribe for only two weeks, living in different towns, and attending different schools, our friendship lasted many years.

A summer at camp means slightly different things for each camper.  Whether it be special events, specialty areas, the facilities or the staff, everyone remembers their experience uniquely.  However, all campers cherish the friendships that are created during this time.  Friendships are an important part of any child’s life.  Good friends make you feel good about yourself and you feel happy when you are around them.  Although it can be stressful for children to meet new people, most campers want to make new friends.

At YMCA Camp Ingersoll inspiriting friendships is an important aspect of our camp program.  Our counselors are trained to understand the desire campers have to form new friendships while considering the anxiety that comes with being around new people.  Our tribes are kept small to encourage campers to get to know one another.  Our programs are designed to provide campers with a variety of experiences and instill positive character values. Furthermore, each YMCA Camp Ingersoll staff member is selected based on their ability to accept and demonstrate the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

This summer your child will not only enjoy the outdoors and learn something new and exciting, they will make a friend.

Best Wishes,

Tony Sharillo, Camp Director
