OPEN DOORS PROGRAM POLICIES
For Membership Privileges
1) Salary and/or other benefit information are required
from each individual contributing to the household
annual income.
2) Individuals receiving unemployment
benefits will be approved for a period of six months.
After this period one must reapply for assistance
and submit either proof of continued unemployment
benefits or proof of employment (two consecutive pay
stubs).
3) Individuals residing in a group
home environment are required to submit proof of residence
and length of expected residence. This document must
be signed by authorized staff on agency letterhead.
Individuals must reapply for the Open Doors program
every six months.
4) Members of the clergy are required
to submit the front page of their income tax return
as proof of income.
5) College students are required
to apply as a part of the family household.
6) Authorized YMCA staff have the
right to ask pertinent income related questions in
an attempt to gain complete understanding of household
income.

to help determine eligibility:
1) How does your family manage rent/mortgage
on this income? Can you provide documentation or reduced
rent due to receipt of state subsidy?
2) What is your average electric
bill, phone bill, cable bill? Can you provide documentation
of reduced billing due to receipt of state subsidy?
3) Do you receive subsidy from any
other state or city agencies?
4) Are you receiving spousal/child
support? If you are supposed to be but are not, can
you provide documentation supporting this?
